What earplugs should swimmers use?

Earplugs come in a range of styles and materials, but most importantly, they must fit and be comfortable. Talk to your audiologist about custom-made earplugs. This involves making a mold of your ears and creating a pair of reusable earplugs that matches the shape of your ear.

Pre-fit or custom earplugs are great for medical use. They can be used by patients (including children) with ventilation tubes in their ears. Patients with fluid in the middle ears can use the earplugs to keep most water and bacteria out of the ear canal.
